Bruce Maddocks' Cups 'N Strings Studios Installs
SEK'D Prodif™ 88
PCI-Interface card for the transmission of Multi-Channel
AES/EBU featuring 24 Bit / 96 kHz resolution

"I was preparing to do some Dolby digital
AC3 encodes of the Salt Lake City opening ceremonies for production
mixer Ed Greene," recalls Bruce Maddocks, "And when
I went to do the load-in, I discovered that the performance
level of my sound card was not up to the task. I contacted Jim
Pace at plus24 and discussed the Prodif 88 -- it was delivered
the same day. I put the card in my computer, installed the driver,
clicked two or three buttons and started passing encode signals
into it and out of it. It worked like a champ, and believe me,
it saved my butt." Cups 'N Strings has the world's first
24-channel Nuendo system with Prodif 88 I/O, which utilizes
the AES format -- not Lightpipe. |
Maddocks recently tranferred the original Steely Dan "Gaucho"
multitrack tapes for Elliot Scheiner through the Prodif 88 and Swissonic
A/D converters to the Nuendo system for 5.1 release.
